Q. BD has been a sponsor of BIX for two consecutive years. We sincerely appreciate your continued support by participating as a sponsor for BIX 2024. Could you please share the reasons for sponsoring BIX again this year? Additionally, what tangible business results have you achieved from your previous sponsorships?

A. Over the past two years, BD has leveraged BIX to solidify its position as a company that goes beyond simply providing drug delivery devices, but as one that provides various solutions in the bio-industry. Through last year’s participation, BIX was able to communicate with stakeholders from various departments (R&D, sales department, CMO business, purchase, etc.) of about 200 domestic biopharma companies and confirm that it is the ideal place to convey the BD’s value as a bio company. We held meaningful business meetings with BD's main customers, and many decision-makers of C-level (executive level such as CEO, CEO, etc.) and middle managers (team leader, manager, senior researcher, etc.) visited the BD booth. Above all, direct communication between BD and C-level executives at representative customer companies at the VIP networking event which took place on the first day, served as an opportunity to solidify partnerships between two respective sides as B2B business units.

Q. At the BD’s booth, what key aspects or products should visitors pay attention to? What core products or technologies do you want to showcase? Compared to the booth at BIX 2023, what points do you want to emphasize this year?

A. The reason for participation is the same as last year, but at this year’s booth exhibition, there is greater emphasis on the technology support service that supports the overall biopharmaceutical lifecycle, such as in the development of Advanced Drug Delivery System (disposable pens, autoinjectors, wearable devices) for self-administration of chronic disease treatments, and in the development of other secondary combination products, based on BD's ample experience.

In addition to Advanced Drug Delivery Systems, BD Neopak™ XtraFlow™ glass pre-field syringe and BD SCF™ PremiumCoat® stopper optimized for biopharmaceuticals, and a portfolio of needle products that can be mounted on the syringe, will be demonstrated to showcase various product options offered by BD.

Q. BD’s business session at BIX 2023 provided valuable insights to many attendees from the pharmaceutical industry. Could you please give us a preview of the topics BD will cover at this year’s BIX?

A. At BIX 2024, BD will provide an insight session on the latest technologies for visitors, to be specifically delivered by Santosh Das, the Regional Commercial Director of BD Pharmaceutical Systems. As biologics are increasingly being considered for home self-administration which requires a complex shift from IV to SC administration, biopharma confronts system integration challenges in combination product development. The lecture will address such challenges, best practices, and considerations when developing patient-centered devices (auto-injectors, pens, and wearables) that can lead to successful combination product development in a home care setting. The lecture will address challenges, best practices, & patient-centric device development considerations (autoinjector, pen, wearable device) to help manage complexity that will lead to success in combination product development.

Q. If you were to describe BD at BIX 2024 in one sentence, what would it be?

A. When pharmaceutical bio companies visit the BD booth at BIX 2024, they will witness a company represented by employees with a sense of duty to promote human health (Advancing the World of Health)that provide innovative technology-based and integrated product and service solutions in the biopharmaceutical field.
